Sciacca is board certified with years of experience in the ENT profession. He works in concert with his well trained office staff to accurately diagnose your health complaints and quickly apply the right treatment to get you back to optimal health.

Robert J Sciacca M.D., FAAOHNS, FAAOA, FAAMA

Dr. Sciacca has lived and practiced in Hoover, AL since 1982. He is a graduate of UAB Medical School and completed his surgical internship at Baptist Princeton and Montclair Hospitals in Birmingham. He completed his ENT residency at UAB in 1982. He founded Alabama ENT Associates in 1991 and spearheaded the development and completion of the current Medplex Medical Complex, including Medplex Outpatient Surgery Center.
Dr. Sciacca is board certified by both the American Academy of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery and the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy. He is also board certified by the American Board of Medical Acupuncture and is a founding diplomate of the American Board of Holistic Medicine.
He performed the first endoscopic intranasal sinus surgery in Birmingham in 1986. He has performed over 5,000 nasal sinus surgeries and has 30 years experience in all aspects of endoscopic and image guided sinus surgery, to include the frequently advertised balloon sinuplasty technique.
He is a decorated Vietnam combat veteran and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Alabama Veterans Memorial Foundation. He is a life member of several national veterans organizations: The Military Order of the Purple Heart, The Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion,  , The American Legion,sand Disabled Vietnam Veterans of America. 


Casey Arnold M.S.,CCC-A
Ms. Arnold earned her Masters degree in Audiology from The University of Alabama in 1998. Since then, she has had the opportunity to work in a variety of clinical settings across the Central Alabama area. Mrs. Arnold has worked with patients of all ages, ranging from newborns to geriatric populations, and patients with developmental disabilities. Over the years, Ms. Arnold has also been involved in various professional organizations on both state and local levels. Patients of all ages will appreciate Ms. Arnold's vast experience and training as well as her genuine desire to improve the lives of others.


Monica S. Franklin M.Ed, CCC-SLP
Mrs. Franklin has worked in the field of Speech-Language Pathology for more than 20 years. She is a nationally certified and state licensed practitioner. Her background includes many years of service in the pediatric population through private practice, on staff at the Charity League Speech and Hearing Clinic for Children- Children's Hospital, and as a contract therapist with Birmingham City Schools. Monica has focused on providing treatment and care of adult clients in a variety of settings including the voice lab of Alabama ENT Associates since 2005.  Monica earned her degree in Speech-Language Pathology, cum laude, from Alabama A&M University. She is a member of the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association, the Speech and Hearing Association of Alabama, The Voice Foundation,  and the Ronald McDonald House Charities. Mrs. Franklin is the owner of Franklin Vocals, a private SLP consulting and staffing service with concentration in the area of vocal pathology and performance.

Emily Staveley Blake M.S., CCC-SLP
Mrs. Blake began her career as a Speech-Language Pathologist in 2007 after graduating with a Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from The University of Alabama. She is a nationally certified and state licensed practitioner.  Some of her past employers include Cherokee County Public Schools in Holly Springs, GA, The Summit Health and Rehab in McComb, MS, Salem Nursing and Rehab Center in Reform, AL, and Select Medical Corporation in Birmingham, AL. She held the title of Director of Rehab in the skilled nursing facility as well as the long-term acute care hospital. She is a member of the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association, and the Speech and Hearing Association of Alabama .  Emily is a proud alumna of the Delta Zeta sorority where she was involved in countless philanthropic events to volunteer and raise money for the Speech and Hearing Center at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. 


Our front office and clinical staff are dedicated to providing a welcoming and patient sensitive environment while we diagnose and treat your ear, nose, and throat ailments.  As mothers or care givers themselves, they are sensitive to the family dynamics and needs of all ages of our patient population. Each office employee is dedicated to assisting our professional staff in providing efficient and personable care. All of our office staff are cross trained and certified in CPR and basic life support.

La'Tara Pollard

Mrs. Pollard has been with Alabama ENT since 2005. She holds professional certifications as a Certified Otolaryngology Practice Manager (COPM), Certified Healthcare Chart Auditor (CHCA), Certified Otolaryngology Coding Specialist (CENTCS), and Certified Professional Coder (PAHCS). She has worked in nearly every aspect of the practice since her arrival. While working full time, she completed her bachelor degree in Business Administration in 2012. She directs all aspects of our practice and is instrumental in maintaining the efficient, patient friendly environment that distinguishes our medical practice.

Linda Moore 
Receptionist/Insurance Co-ordinator/Scheduler
Retired 2015, Part Time
Mrs. Moore was employed by Alabama ENT since 1995. As our former receptionist, she is responsible for welcoming you to our practice. She also handles numerous patient phone calls, verifies insurance coverage, and schedules all allergy tests, surgeries, CT and MRI scans. In addition she informs patients of any co-pays, deductibles,etc. associated with surgeries, testing, or other aspects related to care rendered in our office.


Office Nurses

Kietra Kidd
Ms. Kidd has been employed with Alabama ENT since 2003 and is a certified medical assistant. She took a brief hiatus to attend nursing school which she finished in 2011. She is familiar with all aspects of our clinic and provides assistance to our professional office staff. She serves as our practice triage nurse and insures that patient information regarding medications, medical and surgical history, allergies, and other data is accurately entered into our electronic medical records system. She also assists Dr. Sciacca when needed in the exam rooms, and in the allergy department as an allergy technician with skin testing and vial preparation.

 Loretta Ford
Mrs. Ford has been with Alabama ENT since 2008. She is a certified medical assistant and allergy technician . She assists Dr Sciacca daily in the exam rooms and answers daily patient phone calls. In addition, she handles all daily written, electronic or faxed medical prescriptions, laboratory specimen preps and mailing, and instrument sterilization as directed by Dr. Sciacca. She is also active in the allergy department, assists with MQT and IDT skin testing, and mixes allergy vials.
